Rodney Barney

Rodney has done hair professionally for 24 years, although he started even earlier when he started honing his skills on his friends and family. After attending the Fay Stacey program in Ogden, Utah, Rodney moved to Salt Lake City for two years, and then to Seattle, where he attended the Gene Juarez Academy of Beauty.

And even as a student, Rodney found he was being asked for help by his classmates. That helped convince him that he had found his true calling. And he has been a stylist and teacher ever since. After receiving his teaching credentials in coloring, cutting and nails from the Advanced Training Center. He taught for two years, then spent 10 years at the James Alan Salon in Shorehline, later becoming a Sebastian Advocate and traveling to Mexico, Hawaii and California while working with leading stylists from all over the world. It was a glamorous, exciting time, but Rodney decided to manage a hair salon on Capitol Hill, which he did for several years before deciding to join Studio 2602.

Rodney is delighted to be part of the crew at Studio 2602, where he enjoys the nurturing environment and the sense of creativity that permeates the place. As a creative person, he is excited to offer creative solutions to his clients so that they look their very best.
